How do I add a cash fund to my registry?

In addition to products, you can also add one or more cash funds to your Riley & Grey Registry! To receive monetary gifts, please visit the Registry tab of your account and then to "Settings" to the toggle to "Enable Cash Registry".

By enabling Cash Registry, you have the ability to receive cash gifts directly on your wedding website. These cash gifts can be transferred to your bank account, be redeemed as gift cards with bonus value to top retailers, or be used for the purchase of your physical registry gifts!

Due to U.S. regulations, we are only able to support the cash registry at this time for U.S. citizens who are 18 years or older and agree to the Riley & Grey Registry Terms of Service, with a U.S. bank account. However, if you are are outside of the U.S., you can still add a third-party registry cash fund (such as Honeyfund) on your wedding website based on what's available in your specific country. As indicated in the screenshot above, there is a standard gifting fee with all cash gifts. This gifting fee covers the transactional costs of working with our financial partners. For credit card payments, the gifting fee is higher than bank account transfers due to credit card processing fees. This fee is a standard 2.5% for credit card transactions and 2% for bank accounts. Riley & Grey has opted to allow you to choose whether you want to pay this fee, or if your guests will pay this fee. Typically, guests will cover this cost, but some couples want the option to take it on themselves.

Once you have confirmed your preferred settings, you can add a cash fund to your registry by going back to the "Build Registry" tab and click "+Add to registry" and then "Add a cash fund".

You will then be able to create your cash fund for anything you are looking to put money towards. Many couples create funds supporting their honeymoon, specific experiences, downpayment on a house, funds for a new baby, etc. Your guests will be able to contribute whatever amount they wish to this cash fund as part of your registry. Guests will see the cash funds on your registry page with your other funds/products.

The current default amounts for cash gifts are $100, $200, $350, $500, and "Custom Amount". Although you can't yet change these default amounts yourself, if you reach out to the Riley & Grey Customer Service team, we will be happy to edit these amounts for you on the back end. If you want to change the default suggested amounts, simply email us at help@rileygrey.com and let us know what you would like the four amounts to be (the 5th choice will always be "Custom Amount").
